HELP THE LOCAL CHILDREN OF PUERTO VIEJO!

2012 is almost over, a new year is coming up – Time to make changes!

Every single person has different wishes, hopes and goals for 2013.

I, as a volunteer from Germany who works in ATEC, personally want to help the youngest generation of Puerto Viejo.

CEN, Center of Education and Nutrition, is a local institution which supports the education and nutrition of families in order to improve their childrens future.

By providing pregnant mothers and infants with food as well as providing children at the age of 2 to 7 with daily care and education, the government is trying to improve the situation of the local families of Costa Rica.

In order to gain a development, I believe, a secure and nice environment for the children is necessary!

Unfortunately regarding CEN it is quite the contrary. Constantly they have to deal with robbery, destruction and flooding.

The children only have an extremely little amount of toys and school supply. Their nap at midday they have to take on the cold ground.

Furthermore the playground is completely broken, which not only affects the possibilities of enjoyment but also is a daily danger for them.

Despite all this I have never seen so open-minded, loving and happy children like those before!

Obviously they are aware of all the problems they are surrounded by, but nevertheless none of them loses their remarkable positive attitude.

By observing and getting to know them I figured it wouldn’t take much to put a big smile on their face for the new year 2013. Therefore I decided to rebuild their playground.

To involve the local people, I will implement my plan together with the children of the High School at the end of December.

Furthermore a lot of volunteers offered their support and are now working together with me. Unfortunately though still a lot of financial support is missing.

As I said- every single person himself knows their personal wishes, hopes and goals for the upcoming year, but maybe you are one of those people who want to somehow help others who truly need your ambition.

If so, the children of Puerto Viejo, their parents and I would more than appreciate your donation!
