Yard Sale 10 Oct--bring your stuff--and Party at the Recycling Center
1. Second Saturday: We’ve been telling you about our group of artists making useful art out for reused stuff. We have been going to the farmers market on Saturday mornings. Starting this Saturday we’ll be appearing at the Puerto Viejo Farmers’ Market on the Second Saturday of the Month. We’ll be sponsoring art workshops and garage sales. BRING stuff you no longer need to the Puerto Viejo Farmers’ Market this Saturday and every second Saturday of the month starting this Saturday the 10th. You can donate the items or sell them yourself and keep the proceeds.
Bring your kids for the reused art workshop.
ALSO, the Artists’ Collective group is having a meeting Tomorrow Thursday at 11AM at ATEC. If you are or if you know an artist who’d be interested in joining the group and making and selling useful art out of recycled materials. COME!

We also are collecting your used items for to make art: Bring them to the Second Saturday’s at the market or to ATEC:
* Tetrabrik (Clean and squished only)
* Old pants (not nice enough to wear)
* Used us hammocks and towels
* La Nación Newspaper
* The material from broken umbrellas
* Broken ceramics (plates, coffee cups even)
* Fabric
* Small tuna cans
* Etc.--other unusable things you think could be made into art.
2. Party at the Recycling Center
It sounds gross to go to the recycling center and help to sort the liquor bottles from the soda cans, but go with a group of new friends, crank the music, eat some donated treats and it becomes a party.
It is becoming a weekly party. Each Tuesday folks have been car pooling their way to the recycling center (in the barrio of Patino by Hone Creek) to really learn about solid waste.
Each Tuesday this month, the 13, 20, and 27th we’ll see how much more we can get done. (you could show up Any Time and Work)
Contact one of the following friends to come join the party:
Denis 8362 0707 (the young man who drives the truck and manages the center, Spanish only)
Corridor Biologico 2756 9033 or 2756 8136
Maurizio from Cafe Viejo
ATEC 2750 0398 or Alaine at home 2750 0052
Manuel Pinto 8879 9191 (Mani has been to volunteer twice and is going again next week, so he knows what’s going on with volunteering)
It is very important to recognize and thank and support the people and businesses who have given their time and energy.
Thanks to Manuel, Jose, Shilo, Aron, Felipe, Solon, and Maya from
Caribe Sur Bienes Raices/Real Estate and

Walter Brown Masseuse de Manzanillo
